Work
My intention for this work was to create a visual focal point viewable from blocks down the street, to draw attention to the gallery. I relied on the implied urgency of hi viz orange to attract possible visitors to enter the gallery and see the rest of the show.
accompanied by this text:
A window
a tangible screen
The invisible void
a secret garden, with a guestlist
what steps can we take to make the invisible visible?
what transparent entity sleeps in my living room?
diamonds,
or pearls?
Concentrated focus shoved down your throat
and forced to swallow
peel it off like a band-aid
nice and slow
Yesterday in tomorrow’s words told me to not worry
but a slight pinch
Fraught
an opaque surface made transparent through self reflection
slightly reflective
Zzzz….
This installation was made for CURIO, a group exhibition at Erickson Gallery in Portand, OR, in association with Black Sheep Collective.
